Pensacola, FL – Woman Airlifted After Multi-Car Crash on Blue Angel Pkwy
Pensacola, FL (March 26, 2025) - Emergency crews rushed to a crash scene in Escambia County after a violent three-vehicle collision left one woman seriously hurt. The accident occurred on March 25 around 3:21 p.m. near the intersection of Blue Angel Parkway and U.S. Highway 98 in Pensacola.
According to a Florida Highway Patrol report, a 37-year-old woman from Pensacola was driving a Toyota sedan when she collided with the rear of a Tesla that had been stopped at a red light. The Tesla, driven by a 68-year-old Pensacola man, was waiting behind a Land Rover operated by a 62-year-old local driver. The impact from the Toyota pushed the Tesla into the back of the Land Rover, causing a chain reaction crash.
Authorities say the impact was forceful enough to cause the woman’s vehicle to overturn. She was airlifted from the scene by Life Flight to Sacred Heart Hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the Tesla sustained minor injuries, while the driver of the Land Rover was reportedly uninjured. At this time, an investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
We hope the woman injured in this accident recovers quickly.
Car Accidents in Florida
Car crashes are, unfortunately, common across Florida’s roadways. The Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles reported over 390,000 crashes in the state last year alone, with more than 250,000 injuries. From congested city intersections to fast-moving highways, collisions happen every day and often result in lasting consequences for those involved.
When looking at the outcomes of car accidents, one area of concern involves injuries that result in long-term recovery needs:
- Spinal Injuries: Car crashes often lead to spinal trauma, including herniated discs or fractures. Recovery can involve surgery, physical therapy, and chronic pain management.
- Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI): Even with airbags, the force of an accident can cause the brain to strike the inside of the skull, resulting in mild to severe brain injuries.
- Broken Bones: High-impact collisions frequently cause fractures in arms, legs, ribs, and hips. These injuries often require surgery and extended time off work to heal.
- Psychological Effects: Anxiety, PTSD, and depression can affect crash victims long after physical wounds heal. Many need therapy to cope.
- Soft Tissue Damage: Whiplash and torn ligaments are common and can limit mobility for weeks or even months.
- Internal Injuries: Blunt force trauma may cause damage to organs or internal bleeding, often requiring emergency intervention.
