Escambia Co., FL – 85-Year-Old Man Killed in Hit-and-Run on N Green St

Escambia Co., FL (January 27, 2025) – Authorities are searching for the driver responsible for a fatal hit-and-run that claimed the life of an 85-year-old man in Pensacola earlier this week.

The Florida Highway Patrol reported that the crash occurred at approximately 6 p.m. on January 27. The victim, an elderly man using a walker, was walking along the edge of the northbound lane of N. Green Street, just south of W. Moreno Street, when he was struck by a vehicle. The driver did not stop and fled the scene in an unknown direction.

Emergency medical personnel arrived quickly and transported the man to a nearby trauma center. Sadly, he was later pronounced dead.

Investigators believe the vehicle involved may be a gray passenger car with damage to its front right corner and lights. Authorities urge anyone with information about the vehicle or driver to come forward.
