Panama City, FL – Bicyclist Killed in Auto Wreck on State Rd 79
Panama City, FL (September 25, 2024) – A bicyclist was fatally injured as a result of a car crash that occurred on Monday morning, September 23.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a bicyclist was traveling northbound on the east pave shoulder of State Road 79 during the morning hours. For unknown reasons, they were struck by a tractor-trailer, which was also traveling northbound. Authorities arrived at the scene and located the bicyclist with severe injuries in a construction zone on the road. The bicyclist was severely hurt in the crash. Despite medical efforts, the victim was pronounced deceased. At this time, the incident is under investigation.
