Fatal Auto Accidents in Florida
Car accidents continue to be a significant issue in Florida, with more than 251,000 people suffering injuries from crashes in 2023 alone. These accidents happen for a variety of reasons, including distracted driving, speeding, impaired driving, and difficult weather conditions.
Distracted driving is one of the leading causes of accidents. This often happens when drivers are using their cellphones, adjusting the radio, or focusing on other distractions inside the car instead of the road. Speeding is another common cause, as driving too fast limits the time a driver has to react to sudden changes or obstacles, making accidents more likely and the impact of crashes more severe. Impaired driving also poses a danger. Whether someone is under the influence of alcohol, or drugs, or even suffering from fatigue, their ability to drive safely is reduced, leading to a higher chance of accidents on Florida’s roads. On top of all this, Florida’s unpredictable weather, including heavy rain and fog, creates hazardous driving conditions that can increase the risk of collisions, especially when drivers do not adjust their behavior to account for slippery roads or poor visibility.
