A 78-year-old woman died as a result of a fatal accident that occurred on Monday evening in Madison County. Florida Highway Patrol officers responded to the scene of the accident at around 5:15 p.m.

Official reports indicate that two vehicles collided on Interstate 10 in Madison County. Authorities arrived at the scene and immediately shut down the road to prevent further damage. A 78-year-old woman involved in the accident was immediately pronounced deceased as a result of her injuries. One additional victim was transported to Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare for emergency medical care. At this time, the incident is being investigated.
