A 40-year-old woman and a 43-year-old man lost their lives as a result of a fatal pedestrian accident reported in near Lanark Village near the Carrabelle area. Authorities were called to the scene of the accident on July 6th.

Reports from the Florida Highway Patrol indicate that the man and woman were attempting to cross Highway 98 near Arizona Street just after 10:00 p.m. For unknown reasons, they were struck by a pickup truck. Both of the pedestrians were thrown to the shoulder of the roadway. The male pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene. The female pedestrian passed away from her injuries while on the way to the hospital. The driver of the pickup truck, a 25-year-old female, was treated for injuries. At this time, the incident is under investigation.
